At First Baptist Church of Avondale, we are growing together in our relationship with Jesus Christ and in our love for one another. We are a church family committed to loving, encouraging, and caring for each other as we grow in faith. We know that we are not perfect, but we serve a perfect Heavenly Father who continues to shape us, guide us, and draw us closer to Him.

Our desire is to seek God’s will and discover His purpose for our lives, our church, and our community. We believe every believer is called to share the love of Christ and the good news of salvation, repentance, and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Our mission extends beyond the walls of our church as we seek to serve and reach the people of Avondale, the Westbank, New Orleans, and communities around the world.

We believe God has called us to be a people of prayer, humility, repentance, and faith. Guided by His Word and grounded in the promise of 2 Chronicles 7:14, we seek His presence, trust in His power, and remain faithful to His calling on our church.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
— 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)
